Bomb Disarmed at Subic Int'l Airport

Airport police said that bomb experts disabled an IED inside the passenger terminal of the Subic Bay International Airport early Saturday.

The device was found at a ventilation duct in the arrival section shortly before midnight late Friday and was "neutralized" several hours later after the building was evacuated.

Airport personnel became suspicious when they found wires sticking out of the duct. There were no immediate claims of responsibility for planting the bomb at Subic Bay, a former U.S. naval base about 55 miles north of Manila which has been turned into a free port and industrial enclave
