Sanyo Denki to hire 600 workers

Japan's electronic giant Sanyo Denki Philippines will hire an additional 600 workers following the recent completion of its new factory here.

Sanyo products are in high demand in the international market and the Philippines is one of its leading factories in the Pacific.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman Feliciano G. Salonga welcomed Sanyo's expansion program as this will further boost Philippine economy.

Sanyo Denki is known worldwide as manufacturer of high-end electronic machinery and appliances.

He added that the expansion would generate at least 600 new employees that would be outsourced from Olongapo, Zambales, Bataan and other nearby communities.

Sanyo Denki Co. Ltd. of Japan President and CEO Shigeo Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Sanyo Denki Co. Ltd. of Japan, said that the accomplishment of the second factory is based both on the necessity for increasing production to meeting increasing demand in the world market for Sanyo products.

The inauguration was held inside the Subic Techno Park (STEP), a Japanese industrial park situated inside the Freeport.

Sanyo Denki is a world leader in the manufacture of small precision motors, servomotors and systems, UPS and engine generators with a global distribution network of 26 offices located over 15 countries, including the United States.

Its clients include leaders in the computer hardware industry such as Intel, IBM, Cisco, and Sun Microsystems.

Its Subic plant will serve as Sanyo Denki's hub for manufacturing and exporting precision motors for computer cooling systems that are highly in demand all over the world. Balita.org
