'Gapo police, church leaders pray for peace
OLONGAPO City – Police and church leaders held Wednesday the Prayer for Peace and Reconciliation at the Hall of Zion at Camp Lt. General Manuel F. Cabal in Barangay Barretto.
City police director Senior Supt. Angelito Pacia said the September 12 event has been installed as a yearly occasion under Presidential Proclamation No. 1362.
The occasion was attended by Bro. Nonoy Sanmillan, Paris Pastoral Council of Saint Anne; Pastor Willy Martin of Olongapo Christian Minister Association; Pastor Marcelino Giron Faith Christian; Pastor Irene Datu and Norie Gomez, Business Permit head who represented Mayor James “Bong” Gordon.
Police and church leaders signed a joint statement on cooperation and understanding among the Philippine National Police, National Council of Churches in the Philippines, and the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches.
