GAPO, TOP REVENUE EARNER IN REGION 3

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has recognized Olongapo City under the leadership of Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. as one of the top revenue earners in Central Luzon.

As part of BIR’s 2008 Regional Tax Campaign, a symposium was held recently at the Plenary Hall of Paskuhan Village, City of San Fernando, Pampanga participated in by national and local government officials as well as prominent business and professional taxpayers in Region 3.

During the forum, Olongapo City along with other cities and businessmen in the region with outstanding performance in revenue collection received certificates of recognition from BIR Commissioner Lilian Hefti.

According to Mayor Gordon, the efficient collection of taxes in Olongapo is maintained through the efforts of the city government to continuously uplift the socio-economic condition of the city. It can be recalled that the Taxpayers’ Lounge in Olongapo has recently been opened for the convenience of the taxpayers in the city. The construction of JLGMH annex Building has also been completed to give the public better and quality medical services.

Mayor Gordon together with other officials and businessmen in Central Luzon also signified their support for the BIR’s national tax campaign through by affixing their signatures in the Pledge of Support.

With the theme “Share the Nation’s progress, Pay your taxes correctly” the well-attended forum was arranged by Regional Director Zenaida Garcia, Assistant Regional Director Pepito Aranas, and other BIR officials.
