Signal number 2 over Zambales
Tropical storm "Cosme" has maintained its strength as it continues to move towards Central and Northern Luzon area.
Bearing maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center it will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon and bring rains over Southern Luzon and Western Visayas as it moves northeast at 13 kilometers per hour.
By Monday evening, the weather disturbance is expected to push its way out of the Philippine area of responsibility.
Signal number 2 has been raised over Zambales, Tarlac, Pangasinan and La Union.
Meantime, Signal Number 1 is up over Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Benguet, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Abra, Ilocos Sur, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, Lubang Island and Metro Manila.
These areas can experience increased rainfall activity over the weekend.
Residents in low lying areas and near mountain slopes are advised to take all the necessary precautions against possible flashfloods and landslides.
Residents along the coastal areas of Luzon and Western Visayas are alerted against big waves generated by these tropical cyclone.
Meantime, the National Disaster Coordinating Council also warns Metro Manila residents to exercise extra precaution over the weekend given the expected dose of heavy showers.
