'Gapo dog wows judge in German Shepherd show

A female dog from Olongapo City won the highest locally-bred SG-Rating Award at the Southern Luzon German Shepherd Dog Association (SLGSDA)’s 12th Landesgruppen Sieger Show held recently at the Alabang Country Club Field in Ayala Alabang Village.

Top-rating Indonesian Judge Thee Ning chose Gypsi Du Bergenie, owned by Olongapo German Shepherd enthusiasts Dennis Escalona Legaspi and Stacy Mae Whiteman, over a number of dogs in the 12 to 18 months female class, touted to be the most exciting category among all the class competitions of the day.

Gypsi, initially the judge’s favorite pick at the start of the presentation, received the SG2 rating from the Judge, only to be narrowly beaten by an imported female German Shepherd from Germany owned by Dr. Ramon R. Valenzuela, current chairman of the SLGSDA.
