MAYOR GORDON CELEBRATES 61ST BIRTHDAY

More awards for Olongapo City is Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr.’s birthday wish this year.

This he revealed during the birthday dinner party held in his honor at the Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC).

The celebration held last October 1, 2008 was attended by guests from the different sectors of society in Olongapo, including business, academe, government, etc.

Mayor Gordon was delighted to see the video birthday greetings of her daughter who is presently studying at Virginia, USA. “ I’m very proud of my daughter because she is doing well in school,” he said.

Mayor Gordon also reiterated the various awards received by the Olongapo City from the different national and private agencies of the country. “These awards made our City one of the best cities in the country”, he said.

First Lady of Olongapo Anne Marie Gordon meanwhile thanked all the people who shared their time and effort in making the occasion a success. She also stressed belief that “through the support of the Olongapeños, we can carry out our aim if we work as a team.”

Aside from the stand-up comedy, there were live bands which performed Beatles songs during the celebration. Earlier in the day, Mayor Gordon also distributed packages to some indigent Olongapeños as part of his birthday commemoration.
