GORDON COLLEGE WINS IN YMCA ACADEMIC OLYMPICS

Gordon College students made their mark in the YMCA North Luzon Regional Academic Olympics held last Nov. 21 to 23, 2008 at Cagayan Colleges in Tugegarao City. The successful participants were Rod Johnson who won 1st place in the Extemporaneous Speech, Rudy Esposo II who ranked 3rd in Oration and Catherine Mendoza who bagged the 3rd spot in quiz bee.

The champions for each event will represent North Luzon in the upcoming National YMCA Academic Olympics to be held at NCR on December 5 to December 6, 2008.

“Congratulations to the students who never fail to make our College proud. Pinatutunayan lang nito na hindi kailangang maging mahal ang pag-aaral” Mayor James ‘Bong’ Gordon Jr. proudly said in announcing the accomplishment the flag ceremony of the City Government employees recently.

Gordon College has always been known to produce successful examinees. Last September 2008 100% of the examinees from Gordon College passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in the Elementary Level and 56% in the Secondary Level. LET is given by the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC).
