Hotel offers helicopter tour to Mt. Pinatubo
DO you get tired just thinking about the two-hour hike to Mt. Pinatubo along a lahar-filled watery streambed on a hot summer day?
Here is an opportunity for people minus the heart of a perfect hunk to take on an equally exciting panoramic skyview of the majestic crater lake of the world-renowned volcano via helicopter courtesy of ABC Hotel, located in the heart of Angeles City.
In a statement, Department of Tourism Region III director Ronaldo Tiotuico said ABC Hotel—in cooperation with the Department of Tourism- Region 3—is providing guests and visitors to Metro Clark an opportunity to revisit the lahar-laden plains and mountain ranges of the provinces of Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales, as well as the magnificent jewel-blue crater lake of Mt. Pinatubo in Botolan, Zambales on board an R44 Raven II helicopter.
The sky tour is offered with an optional overnight stay at any of the hotel’s rooms plus dinner in a restaurant.
Donna Cubelo, marketing and promotions head, said the helicopter is equipped with a fuel-injected, angle-valve, tuned-induction, IO-540 Lycoming engine. Its very large windows allow clear and unobstructed vision from all seats. It can accommodate three passengers with a weight capacity of 110 kilos per passenger, including luggage. The tour is $500 per hour for three persons while waiting time is P4,000 per hour after touchdown. The terminal is located at Omni Aviation complex in Clark.
