Gordon can join Lakas-Kampi-CMD

Sen. Richard Gordon is welcome to join the administration party Lakas-Kampi-CMD.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, party president, said they are not closing the door on anyone until the party comes out with a set of criteria for the selections of its candidates. Party officials gave themselves until July 31 to work on the criteria.

Gordon, who has expressed his intention to run for president, said he is interested to join Lakas-Kampi-CMD if the ruling party will promote his advocacies and the party’s standard bearer is chosen based on the “right criteria.”

Gordon said Lakas-Kampi-CMD should not solely depend on survey results in choosing its standard bearer.

Ermita said there has been no addition to the list if those who signified their interest to join the party’s selection process. Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Bayani Fernando is so far the lone party member who declared his bid. Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, another presidential contender, earlier said he would join Lakas-Kampi-CMD.
