Firearms boat seized by BoC in Olongapo

Customs Police seized one of the four speed boats that were allegedly used by the gun running syndicate to transport a cache of Indonesia-made assault rifles at sea when its shipment arrived in Mariveles, Bataan last month.

In talks with reporters, Customs Commissioner Napoleon Morales said the Hammerhead speed boat was spotted by elements of the Enforcement Group (EG) docked in Punta Fuego in Batangas.

"This speed boat was an accessory in the illegal smuggling of weapons since it was used to transport the guns from the cargo ship. We have yet to recover the remaining three," Morales said as he hinted that the other boats are located somewhere in Olongapo City. Raymund F. Antonio - Tempo
