FIREPOWER: PAQUIAO VS COTTO AT THE OCCC

Once again, the Olongapo City government is sponsoring the free viewing of “Firepower,” the much awaited fight of Manny “Pacman” Paquiao, the Philippines’ boxing hero against the 28-year old Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto on November 15, 2009 live via pay-per-view at the Olongapo City Convention Center (November 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at Las Vegas, Nevada).

Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr. has tasked City Dentist Donald Vigo to oversee the setting-up of seventeen (17) big LCD televisions and projectors and to designate personnel who will give medical care and regulate peace and order on the day of the “firepower” boxing match at the OCCC.

“The city sponsors the free viewing of Pacman’s fights to show our support to our “Pambansang Kamao” and to inspire boxing aspirants in Olongapo to believe and work for their big dreams,” said Mayor Gordon.

“It can be recalled that around five thousand (5,000) Olongapeños watched Pacman’s previous fight with Ricky Hatton last May at the OCCC . Considering these numbers, those people who are interested to watch “firepower” must wait in line before we open the OCCC at 8:00 am on the fight day,” Dr. Vigo explained.

The free viewing of “Firepower” along with Pacman’s previous fights are also sponsored by the Colorview Catv (HBO Pay Per View) and Ocampo’s Mall.
