After junking prexy bid, Ebdane runs for Zambales governor
OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines — A few days after quitting the presidential race, former Public Works secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. decided to train his sights on the gubernatorial race in his native province of Zambales.
Governor Amor Deloso, who Ebdane will face in the race, said he was both “sad and worried" that a “presidentiable like Ebdane is challenging me.”
“But on the other hand, I guess it is okay because it seems like it would take a big man to fight me,” said Deloso, a member of the Liberal Party.
Ebdane, who pulled out of the race due to lack of funds to mount a nationwide campaign, filed his certificate of candidacy for governor under the Workers and Peasants Party.
Deloso said Ebdane filed his CoC at the Commission on Elections office in the capital town of Iba at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. By Robert Gonzaga - Inquirer Central Luzon Desk
