GRAFITTI VANDAL CAUGHT IN THE ACT!

Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. commended two (2) security personnel of Civilian Security and Safety Unit (CSSU) with regards to the arrest of a minor for vandalism.

Mayor Bong Gordon handed the Certificates of Commendation to CSSU Officer Filemon Gravina, Jr. and CSSU Deputy Assistant Franco Roldan at the flag raising ceremonies on February 10, 2010 at Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Center.

“Unang-una, it brings down the prices of real estate. Pangalawa, pangit tingnan lalo na at we are expecting a lot of visitors in Olongapo ngayong mga darating na buwan,” Mayor Gordon said of the effects of graffiti and vandalism.

The officers, Gravina and Roldan, were on patrol in their assigned area at Gordon College when they saw a girl writing or vandalizing a concrete post in Marikit Park.

“Nang makita namin ang vandal na sinusulatan ang poste ay agad naming siyang nilapitan, hinuli at kinuha sa kanyang kamay ang ‘pen touch’ na ginamit sa paggra-grafitti,” stated Franco.

The vandal is a fifteen (15) year old female, 3rd year high school student of Gordon Heights School and a resident of 761 Mayumi St. Brgy. Sta. Rita.
After the proper identification of the vandal was made, the CSSU officers turned the vandal over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and was later on sent home to her parents Benjamin and Elsie Costales.

Apart from the Certificates of Commendation, Gravina and Roldan will also receive cash incentives as part of the “Anti-Grafitti Campaign” of the local government.
