Chinese-Filipino businessmen eye Zambales for investments
IBA, Zambales -- A Filipino-Chinese businessman has expressed interest in putting up investments in this province, particularly in estate development, travel and tourism, and health care services.
James G. Dy, who is president emeritus of the Filipino-Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and chairman of the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc., recently led a nine-man Chinese-Filipino business delegation from Manila to explore business prospects in the province.
Among the companies controlled by Mr. Dy are Universal Records, Inc., Eagle Electric, Pan Pacific Travel, Galaxy Records, Inc., Pacific World Plaza International Development Corp., Sempco Realty Development Corp., Dyna Music Entertainment Corp., and the Subic International Hotel in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
“We are interested in investing in Zambales and we are willing to put up businesses here,” Mr. Dy told Zambales Governor Hermogenes Ebdane, Jr. who recently announced that the province was “opening its door” to business proposals from local and foreign investors.
Mr. Ebdane said the province would soon complete its development plan to identify particular investment projects needed for Zambales.
The provincial government is on the lookout for resources and investments, eyeing programs to boost tourism, agriculture, and mining, as well as education, health, employment, and basic services. -- R. Garcia - bworldonline.com
