Public and Private school students are being encouraged to join Kalampajam 2010.

Kalampa Jam Art and Music Festival encourages students to form a group from each elementary, high school and college from all corners of Olongapo City to participate and show-off their talent.

Kalampajam is a project of Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. to tap the youth’s creativity and promote non-usage of any kind of fire crackers for the Christmas season and in welcoming the New Year.

The deadline for registration in the abstract Poster-making contest is on Wednesday, December 1 at FMA hall, Olongapo City Hall, 1pm.

Winners for Kalampa Jam abstract poster-making contest will get cash prize worth P2, 000 for the grand champion, P1, 000 for 1st runner-up and P700 for the 2nd runner-up. It does not stop there. The winning grand champion coach will also receive an incentive worth P1, 000.

Ten (10) to 30 students per school may participate in the Music festival with performances allowed up to 15 minutes maximum to showcase the student’s talent using indigenous materials as instruments. Each group will be judged by music quality, delivery of message relevant to the city government’s “iwas-paputok” campaign and of course with the creativity and use of indigenous materials.
