OLONGAPO LAUDS SBMA FIRE CHIEF
Olongapo City has recognized Fire Captain Ranny Magno of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) for winning the prestigious Civil Service Commission (CSC) “PAG ASA” award for his outstanding contribution to Public Service, besting all other contenders from all over the country.
Magno is a well-trained fire fighter who rose from the ranks to become the Fire Chief of the leading Freeport Zone in the country. He helped SBMA win the 2009 “Gawad Kalasag” Special Citation for Best Support Organization in the national level.
Magno, a dedicated public servant has made himself readily and always available to all emergencies occuring not only in Subic Bay Freeport and Olongapo but also in nearby provinces. Capt. Magno also responded to help on major disasters that struck the country such as the devastating typhoon “Ondoy” and the land slide in Itogon, Benguet, among others.
Besides having a family of his own, he also shares his expertise and services in the cooperative movement. Capt. Magno is currently the Chairman of Zambales Cooperative Bank and a member of the Subic Bay Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
The recognition, through Resolution No. 128 (series of 2010) was authored by City Councilor Eduardo J. Piano passed with the unanimous accord of the Members of the “Sangguniang Panlungsod” and approved by City Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr.
