Palace still undecided on SBMA board

Positions at the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) are still up for grabs as President Aquino is still undecided on who will be part of the SBMA Board.

The SBMA Board lost 12 of its members after President Aquino signed Executive Order (EO) no. 2, which scraps midnight appointees of former Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

“There are already appointed part of the board but I’ll have to get the details. I have so many appointments build up in the past six months,” Aquino said, in an interview with reporters at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales Thursday.

The Chief Executive however said he still has not completed the lineup of those that will form SBMA Board as well as that in Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.

“I am looking for others that will fill it in Clark and Subic,” Aquino said.

It would be recalled that 12 SBMA Board members – Eddie Tamondong, Mario Garcia, Stefani Saño, Ricardo Coscolluela, Jesus Vicente Magsaysay III, Marivic Pineda, Angelita Cruz, Alvin Capino, Ariel Castro, Jorge Estanislao, Francis Garcia and Jennifer Ting – were removed from their posts following the signing of Executive Order No. 2 revoking the services of midnight appointees. The 12 were appointed by President Arroyo on March 1, 2010. (Madel Sabater - mb.com.ph)
