7 motorbikes impounded

OLONGAPO City -- Seven single motorcycles were impounded at the Office of the Zambales Provincial Highway Patrol Team (Zambales-PHPT) for various violation during the implementation of “No Helmet, No Travel” and Oplan Sita.

Zambales PHPT provincial officer Chief Insp. Joel Mendoza said they have benn receiving various complaints from different motorcycle owners that their motorcycles were stolen while parked.

Most of the motorist were violated the “No Helmet, No Travel” policy which earlier implemented by LTO.

During the strict implementation of “Oplan Sita” motorist failed to present documents pertaining to the ownership of motorcycle, no driver license, failure to carry OR and CR and expired registration that prompted PHPT operatives to impound the motorcycle for further verification and investigation.

Zambales PHPT investigator, SPO3 Marlon Agno, said verification made at the Vehicle Management Information System (VIMS) showed the motorcycles impounded are not included in the list of stolen motorcycles.

“’Yung mga motorsiklo ay mananatili sa aming custody hanggang walang naipapakitang sapat na dokumento ang mga nagmamay-ari ng mga ito,” Agno added.
