Slimmers World holds Miss Bikini Philippines 2008

CELEBRATING three decades of providing ultimate slimming, health, fitness and beauty, Slimmers World International begins the search for the country’s representatives to two of the biggest and most renowned international competitions in the World today, Miss Bikini International and Miss Bikini World pageants.

Official candidates

Over 300 fine young women all across the country applied for the competition, 25 rose to the top as official candidates.

They are: Lovely Matola of Cavite, Kristel Ann Iñigo of Davao, Gladys Jane Calungsod of Davao, Andrea Angela Silverio of Mandaluyong, Pia Angela Lesaca of Marikina, Felisa Joy Morales of Olongapo, Beverly Ann Dungog of Marikina, Aubrey Ross Abarcar of Davao, Kaara Tan of Malabon, Shamaine Del Rosario of Olongapo, Kristel Presado of Pasay, Catherine Joy Magat of Makati, Melissa Cruz of Makati, Astrid Adrienne Hernandez of General Santos, Maria Elena Lopena of Davao, Sheryl Arevalo of Cebu, Hannah Leah Pasudag of Davao, Erica Grace Padilla of Marikina, Nadine Ignacio of Bulacan, Russ Raguin of Sta. Cruz, Manila, Sissel Rabajante of Pasig, Vanessa May Kellie of Davao, Joyce Peñanueva of Davao, Samantha De Leon of Davao and Angelica Briagas of Laguna.

Living up to the philosophy of Slimmers World International, the candidates are currently under the care of Slimmers World’s licensed nutritionist-dietitians, face and skin dermatologists as well as physical therapists, making sure that these young ladies will be perfect representatives of Slimmers World International during the Pageant Night.

The 25 finalists will go head to head in several categories: national costume; long gown competition and talent competition.

Judging will be in accordance with international standards, ensuring that the winners will be among the best of the best in the world.

The competition will be heralded by the much anticipated pre-pageant events: Pre-pageant night and long gown competition
will be on May 21 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza.

On May 25, the Grand Coronation Night takes center stage at the PICC Plenary Hall, a grand venue that echoes the grand scale of the event.

Titles and prizes

Candidates will be competing for a number of illustrious titles in the pageant. The honor and prestige of the titles are complemented by the biggest prizes ever in the history of the competition.

Miss Bikini Philippines-World will represent the country in Europe and will win over P500,000 worth of cash and other prizes.

Miss Bikini Philippines-International will be the representative to the China competition and will bring home P400,000 worth of cash and prizes.

PACHECO, WAGI SA BODYBUILDING COMPETITION

Buong pagmamalaking muling ipinakilala ni Olongapo City Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. si Ruth Pacheco sa flag raising ceremony nitong ika-2 ng Enero.

“It’s good to begin the New Year with introducing an excellent Olongapeño like Ruth Pacheco who again triumphantly excelled in bodybuilding,” pahayag ni Mayor Gordon.

Itinanghal si Pacheco bilang first runner up sa isinagawang International Slimmer’s Great Bodies noong ika-1 ng Disyembre sa Plenary Hall ng Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

Bilang bahagi ng kanyang premyo, kakatawanin ni Pacheco ang Lungsod ng Olongapo at maging ang buong Pilipinas sa mga bansang Greece at Germany para sa patimpalak kaugnay pa rin sa pagandahan ng korte ng katawan.

Magugunitang naging over-all champion si Pacheco sa Figure Category ng National Mr. and Ms. Philippines 2007 na isinagawa sa Music Museum noong ika-22 ng Nobyembre.
