Boy dies in blast
Olongapo City---- A four-year-old boy died on the spot when an explosive of an unknown type exploded inside their house of Uranus St., Purok 7, New Cabalan Thursday afternoon.
A report reaching city police director Senior Supt. Florencio Buentipo jr. identified the victim as Erastos Barros.
Investigation conducted by SPO1 Anselmo Villanueva disclosed that the victim’s father Evangelista Barros, 44, and his visitor Roger Rabadan were talking when they saw the boy holding a screwdriver.
A few seconds later, an explosion rocked the house. The boy’s arms and legs were severely damaged by shrapnel.
During investigations, Barros denied keeping any explosives in his house. He said his son probably picked the explosive somewhere else and played with it.
