SBMA employees asked to give their best
Officials and employees of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) brace for new challenges, as newly installed SBMA Chairman Feliciano Salonga urged them to give their best to SBMA.
In his first official meeting with employees during the flag-raising ceremony, Salonga expressed elation over the warm welcome given to him and to new SBMA Administration Armand Arreza during the turnover ceremony last week.
"I am here to work and to serve, not only for our people, but for the locators too. We’re hitting the ground running and I assure you that I will be at your service because we have a daunting task ahead," Salonga said.
Salonga said that Arreza was having an early-morning meeting with some investors, his first official function as administrator of SBMA since assuming the post last Friday.
"Administrator Arreza starts his job as early as the first working hour this morning. This is what we hope from every employee of SBMA so that we could successfully bring up what we are expected to deliver to the country’s economy," Salonga said.
The new chairman commended the past administrations of former SBMA chairmen and administrators Richard Gordon and Felicito Payumo, chairman Francisco Licuanan III and administrator Alfredo Antonio, for their significant contributions.
Accordingly, Senator Gordon, during his term, set the nationalistic tone of the Freeport. He helped develop a plan for the abandoned former military base and successfully transformed it into an industrial-commercial haven and gave the residents a better place to work.
Payumo helped promote an investor-friendly atmosphere in the Subic Freeport that attracted many foreign and local investors.
Likewise, Licuanan and Antonio left their own brand of professionalism, public service and dedication to duty under the guidance of faith.
"Let us work together. And by combining all these legacies, I believe we will succeed in providing Subic and the communities around the Freeport the best," Salonga said.
