Bgy chief shot dead

CANDELARIA, Zambales — A barangay chairman was shot dead by unidentified men in Barangay Catol here Friday afternoon.
Zambales police director Senior Supt. Arrazad Subong identified the victim as Romeo Manago, 42, chairman of Barangay Taposo.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was driving his tricycle to fetch his son at Bani National High School and upon reaching Sitio San Vicente the unidentified suspects shot him at close range.
Police chief Insp. Adreano Cansas Manago was pronounced dead on arrival at the Candelaria District Hospital.
Police recovered three shells for cal. .45 pistol.
Probers are investigating the identity of the suspects and the motive behind the killing.
