Red tide alert lifted

MASINLOC, Zambales—The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has lifted the red tide alert in the waters of Masinloc Bay. Armando Manalo, BFAR chief in Zambales, said the waters of this town and nearby Palauig, Candelaria, San Antonio and Sta. Cruz have been declared free from the red tide toxins following tests conducted by BFAR.
Manalo said these areas have shown negative microorganism appearance and growth. He said shellfish gatherers in the province could resume their activities following the lifting of the ban. Cesar Villa, Inquirer Central Luzon
