US-RP CARAT exercise benefits Zambales communities

Olongapo City -- The recently-concluded Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Exercise 2006, participated by the US Navy and its Philippine counterpart has rendered community service as part of their mission.
Accompanied by Chaplain Alfred Pena, along with US Navy personnel gave computer units, shirts, soccer balls, and other school materials among students of Iram Elementary and Iram High School on August 16, 2006.
More, these American soldiers distributed boxes of medicines among residents of Nino Pagasa, and were acknowledged by the children in this institution.
CARAT 2006 is part of the RP-US Mutual Defense Treaty to train naval personnel in the fight against terrorism and other forms of crime along the seacoast.
The training took one week in different places like at the Subic Freeport, some part of Zambales, and the province of La Union. (PIA Zambales)
