BARANGAY OFFICAIL DEFY POLICE ORDER VS 'TUPADA'
OLONGAPO CITY- Despite the intensified campaign of the Olonhapo PNP against all forms of illegal gambling, officials of Bgy. Barretto continue to defy the order of police authorities to stop the illegal cockfighting (tupada).
People's Tonight learned that Police Station 6 (PS6) has ordered the operator last Thursday to cease operation of the "tupada" at Purok 13.
This is in compliance with the order of PNP city direcor Senior Supt. Angelito Pacia to stop the tupada oeration.
The barangay officials ignored the oerder and continue the "tupada" which according to information was under the protection of Chairman Carlito Baloy.
Report said a certain "Ka Pulo," brither-in-law of Baloy, maintains the "tupadahan" which operated from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. daily.
The barangay officials justified that the money raised from the "tupada" will be used to cover barangay expenses for their fiesta this november.
A source said the barangay has already collected enough money to cover the fiesta expenses in the amount of P200,00 from a carnival opeator renting a space in that area.
On the other hand, the city police and Zambales Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (ZCIDT) denied they knowledge in the operaton of "tupada"
