TESDA Zambales reports accomplishments

Iba, Zambales -- The Provincial Office of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently reported the completion of trainings on two levels such as the community based–implemented by the local government units, and non-government organizations from Olongapo City until Santa Cruz.

During the fiscal year ended 2006, there were 2,667 individuals are trained along this level on skills like: Reflexology, Housekeeping, Butchering, Welding, Lathe Machine Operation, Computer Operation, Basic Electricity, Basic Electronics, Bar tendering and Herbal Soap Making.

Along the enterprise based level training – industries with programs under the “Kasanayan at Hanapbuhay” Program or the Apprenticeship/ Learnership program are on-going accepting trainees for Industrial Electrician, Plastic Molder, Shop Tailor, Fitter, Welder, Circuit Breaker Maker, Core Assembler, General Clerk, Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Electrician, Cashier, Stock Clerk, Cook and Painter.

During the fiscal year ended 2006, there were 847 persons trained. And 50% of the graduates were absorbed by the implementing industry. (by Recto Mangosing Adamos - PIA Zambales)
