Exciting toss-up in Rounds 7, 8 in Blaze Supersaloon series

EXCITEMENT built up at the Subic International Raceway in the battle for the lead in round 7 of the Blaze Supersaloon Championship Series, with Uly Maningding (Explorer Motors Inc.) taking advantage of his pole position to build a lead over his competitors.

Finishing second was Louis Ramirez of Petron SRA, who pulled away from the battling duo of Dennis Uy (Valvoline/Velocity) and Gaby de la Merced (Big Shot Billiards/MPRO) in mid-race.

Uy and de la Merced would battle all the way to the finish but Uy earned the final podium position. Settling only for 4th place, de la Merced nevertheless was able to hold off Kookie Ramirez, while Nico Montinola took the Class C win.

Round 8 started off with Uly Maningding taking the lead at the green, pulling a slight gap over Louis Ramirez. But all the action came from behind as Kookie Ramirez (Petron SRA) came up the field from starting last.

Suspension adjustments had given him a better handling car and he made use of this to climb up the leader board. By mid-race the battle was between Dennis Uy (Valvoline Velocity), Uly Maningding and Kookie Ramirez for the lead and in a crowded moment Uy went wide at the final corner to let Kookie Ramirez through.

Ramirez would not be denied and was soon past Uy and into the lead. Maningding would also get past Uy for second place. At the finish, Dennis Uy took third place with a clear gap over Louis Ramirez and Gaby de la Merced. Nico Montinola once again took the Class C win.
