ZCIDT ‘withholds video bar raid data?

OLONGAPO CITY – Is the Zambales Criminal Investigation and Detection Team withholding from the media information on a raid they conducted on August 22 at a videoke bar operated by a Korean national here?

People’s Journal learned that the ZCIDT operatives stormed the Arirang KTV Bar on Gordon Avenue, Barangay Asinan , to rescue 13 guest relations officers who were reportedly working without permits.

The KTV establishment is owned and managed by Yu Mi Lee ang Maila Paguia. Sources said the victims claimed that they were hired by Yu Mi Lee as GROs but they were urged to go out with customers.

P/ tried to get details of the raid, but a certain Ruben, allegedly a civilian close – in bodyguard of ZCIDT provincial officer Supt. John Lopez, restrained and arrogantly told this reporter to sit down, “ Umupo ka dyan! Huwag kang basta na lang pumasok,” he said..

ZCIDT agents refused to give the full name of Ruben.P/ also learned that the owner of the KTV bar was reportedly about to be charged with violation of the “Anti-trafficking Act of 2003” but it did not push through for unknown reasons.
