Clark-Tarlac SCTex leg 95% completed
MANILA, Philippines -- The Clark-Tarlac segment of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, or SCTEx, is 95 percent completed, the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) said.
Called Package 2, the 43.27-kilometer leg is undergoing quality control scrutiny to make sure that the contractor delivers the roadway according to world-class standards, BCDA president Narciso Abaya said.
A 95-percent project completion “constitutes substantial compliance to the contract” by the Package 2 contractor, Hazama-Taisei-Nippon Steel Joint Venture, Abaya said.
He said SCTEx project managers were doing a quality checklist for every 20-meter segment of the expressway.
“If the findings are not up to the specifications, BCDA will call the attention of the contractor and require it to conform to the approved technical specifications of the project,” he said.
“We are making sure that our country is getting that best from our contractors, and nobody is shortchanged,” Abaya said . Inquirer
