BONGGO SA PAGIGING SENIOR CITIZEN

Mainit ang naging pagtanggap ng mga kasapi ng Senior Citizen Federation kay Olongapo City Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. bilang bagong miembro ng kanilang organisasyon.

Animnapung taon (60) na ang nakararaan nang isilang si Mayor Gordon sa mag-asawang sina James Leonard at Amelia Gordon na kinikilala namang ama at ina ng Lungsod ng Olongapo.

Bagamat hindi bakas sa kaanyuan at kalagayang pisikal, si Mayor Gordon ay isa na sa mga “senior citizens” ng lungsod.

Kasabay ng kanyang kaarawan nitong ika-1 ng Oktubre 2007, ipinagbunyi ng mga kasapi ng Senior Citizen’s Federation ang pagiging bahagi ng grupo ni Mayor Gordon sa pamamagitan ng pagpapasuot ng chaleko bilang tanda ng kanyang “membership.”

Samantala, ipinayo ni Mayor Gordon sa mga taong nagkaka-edad na at maging sa mga kabataan ang pagsasagawa ng regular na ehersisyo upang mapanatili ang kalusugan ng pangangatawan at maiwasan ang anumang karamdamang kalimitang dumadapo sa mga may edad na.

Ayon sa kanya, ang madalas na pag-eehersisyo rin ang sikreto sa pagkakaroon niya ng “youthful physical appearance.” “Exercise maintains healthy body and it helps prevent age-oriented diseases. It is also my secret why I remain youthful,’’ pahayag ni Mayor Gordon.
