Traffic re-routing for MardiGras Remix

Olongapo City will celebrate Mardi-gras Remix on 22 - 24, November 2007, along R. Magsaysay Drive from the corner of Gordon Avenue to Fountain of Unity Rotunda, Rizal Avenue.

The Office of Traffic Management and Public Safety is tasked to guide the motorists/commuters and to minimize the expected traffic congestion of the surrounding areas during the event.


A. ROAD CLOSURES:

1. RM Drive from Gordon Avenue to Fountain of Unity Rotunda.
2. 5th Street corner RM Drive.
3. Fendler Street corner RM Drive.
4. Gallagher Street infront of Paulino residence to RM Drive
5. Hansen St. corner RM Drive West and Hansen St. corner 6th St. East.

B. ONE WAY (Temporary)

1. Perimeter Road from Rizal Ave. to RM Drive.
2. RM Drive from Perimeter Rd to Gordon Avenue.
3. 1st Street from RM Drive to Rizal Avenue.

C. TRAFFIC RE-ROUTING


Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ’s) going to RM Drive will go straight to Rizal Avenue (Jungle) left to Perimeter Road to their designated temporary terminal (along fenceline back of Columban College and Star TV). From Terminal (StarTV) to City proper left turn at 1st Street right turn at Rizal Avenue to their destination. J03’s shall continue to utilize their temporary terminal at the Alley (between Columban Church and former Cindy,s Restaurant).

2. Motorist coming from East Tapinac area can utilize Gordon Avenue via 1st Street in going to West Tapinac.

3. Motorist coming from SBMA (Maingate) can take a right turn at Gordon Avenue or left turn at 1st Street to their destination point.

The Olongapo City Council presided by Vice Mayor Cynthia Cajudo approved the temporary road closures and traffic re-routing during the regular session held yesterday at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall
