HANDHELD RADIOS FOR OTMPS

The Office of Traffic Management and Public Safety (OTMPS) received twenty-eight (28) GP328 handheld radios from the Olongapo City Government recently.

Through the initiative of Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr., OTMPS, under Col. Jose Aquino, received the 28 handheld radios which will significantly help the traffic team’s operations.

According to Mayor Gordon, the issuance of radios to the OTMPS is part of the plan to maintain the smooth flow of traffic in the city and ensures the safety of motorists and pedestrians alike.

“Marapat na mas maging aktibo ang ating mga traffic enforcers lalo ngayong summer na mas maraming turista at bakasyunista ang nagpupunta sa Olongapo. We have to ensure their safety the same way we are ensuring the safety of Olongapeños,” Mayor Gordon said.

Meanwhile, OTMPS likewise ensured that they would continue to perform their duties well to further improve the flow traffic and therefore lessen, if not avoid accidents.

Aside from maintaining the smooth traffic flow in the city, OTMPS, in coordination with the Traffic Division of the Olongapo City Police Office, also enforces regulations pertaining to traffic and operation of public utility vehicles. PAO/jpb
