DRIVERS’ SEMINAR

Two hundred eighty (280) mini-bus, jeepney and tricycle drivers and operators attended the latest “Defensive Driving Seminar” organized by the Office of the Traffic Management and Public Safety (OTMPS).

Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. and Vice Mayor Cynthia Cajudo graced the seminar with their presence.

Mayor Bong Gordon took pride on the awards on peace and order garnered by the city that resulted from the participation of the Olongapeños he said.

Vice Mayor Cajudo on the other hand told drivers and operators on the implementation of computer based ID System by the Public Utility Transportation in Olongapo.

Here are the requirements in acquiring the Transport ID:
1. Licence Number
2. Tin:Tax Identification Number
3. SSS: Social Security System
4. Voter’s Number
5. Phil. Health Number
6. Pag-ibig Number
7. Blood Type

“Kinakailangan na makompleto ang naturang mga requirement para makakuha ng ID. Ang anumang kakulangan ay maaaring makapagpabagal sa proseso ng pagkuha nito”, Vice Mayor Cajudo explained.

Topics discussed ranged from the different techniques in driving, importance of good grooming and ID card in driving.

The seminar likewise highlighted the use of defensive mechanisms like signal lights, hand wipers and headlights.
