MAYOR GORDON CALLS FOR A HEALTHY CITY

Mayor Gordon has ordered the City Health Office and the CSWDO to intensify the implementation of the city’s health program for the residents of Olongapo.

Mayor Gordon’s order, announced after the flag raising ceremony on Monday, January 19, 2009, was in reaction after he saw a large concentration of kids at Purok 1, Brgy. Sta. Rita during his visit recently.

Mayor Gordon is concerned about the negative effects of raising too many children that usually result to the parents’ inability to provide the needs and good health of their family.

“It’s alright to have more children, pero dapat magagastusan ng mga magulang,” Mayor Gordon said .

Through the active involvement of the City Health Office and the CSWDO, Mayor Gordon said he is confident that the city will find ways to resolve the situation.

Barangay Sta. Rita is one of the most densely populated areas in the city.

Another concern of Mayor Gordon are city residents who habitually drink heavily alcoholic beverages. Mayor Gordon wants the situation immediately addressed to prevent incidents of the disease ‘Cirrhosis of the Liver’. “Ayaw natin magkasakit ang mga tao,” according to Mayor Gordon.

Mayor Gordon is encouraging Olongapeños to practice clean and healthy lifestyle.
