A New Red Cross Vehicle
Mayor James “Bong” Gordon. Jr. announced the acquisition of a new service vehicle for the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) Olongapo Chapter during the Flag Raising Ceremony of government employees on January 19, 2009.
The Mayor also commended the local PNRC chapter, headed by Administrator Eduardo Bueno, Jr. in its continuous effort to help and reach out to the public.
According to Bueno, PNRC Olongapo Chapter used its accumulated savings over the years to purchase the said vehicle. The vehicle will be used to bring services to all areas that they can reach. The existing vehicles of the PNRC, a Hilux Pickup, is used mainly for local official travels in their efforts to solicit more funds for the PNRC. The other, an ambulance, is reserved mainly to respond to emergency situations.
With the addition of a Toyota Innova, Mayor Gordon is confident that “Philippine National Red Cross Olongapo Chapter will be able to provide more services to the public and be more aggressive in the implementation of its programs and more efficient in the mobilization of its groups.”
