American gets 12 years for drugs
OLONGAPO CITY – An American was sentenced 12 years and one day to 14 years and 8 months in jail and to pay the fine of P300, 000 plus the cost of drugs found in his possession.
Judge Raymond Viray said Lawrence Fisher, 35, of Barangay Del Pilar, Castillejos, Zambales, was found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165.
SPO2 Marlon Agno, chief investigator of HPG-3 in Zambales, said on Sept. 21, 2004 at 11:30 p.m., they were conducting a checkpoint with SPO1 Condrado Bustarde and SPO1 Urfredo Abadilla in Barangay Barretto as part of their anti-carnapping drive. They flagged down an owner type jeep being driven by Fisher for sporting only ones license plate.
Police asked Fisher for his driver’s license and registration papers of the vehicle when they noticed a small pouch on the driver’s seat which contained a sachet of shabu and eight sticks of marijuana.
