CITY GOVT. EMPLOYEES COOPERATIVE GA AND ELECTIONS
The Olongapo City Government Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Inc. (OCGEMPCI) will hold its annual General Assembly (GA) on April 24, 2009 at the Olongapo City Convention Center, in conjunction with the election of officers for 2009.
Up for grabs are four (4) positions for Directors and three (3) members each for the four (4) standing committees, as follows: Membership and Education, Audit and Inventory, Credit and Collection and Election Committees.
The positions are open to all aspirants with good membership standing. For directors, candidates should have served as chairman for at least one year in any of the committees. Deadline for the filing of certificates of candidacy is on April 07, 2009 at 5:00 pm.
Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. is encouraging OCGEMPCI to help city government employees to save and invest. “Our cooperative is dedicated to helping improve the lives of its members by providing other means to augment their income and answer some of their basic and emergency needs,” Gordon said.
As of 2008, OCGEMPCI has a total number of 1,230 members and has accumulated a total asset of P24M in three year’s time. The cooperative is the one operating and running a canteen beside the City Hall Complex. The OCGEMPCI also provides lending services to its members, such as regular and secured loans which include medical, educational, house rental, rice and grocery loans.
The agenda for this year’s general assembly includes the Chairperson’s Report and the Treasurer’s Report together with the individual reports of each committee chairs.
The group will also discuss issues regarding the writing-off of uncollectible accounts and the proposed adjustment of minimum monthly capital build up (CBU).
Registration of members will be on site before the assembly time. The winners of the said election will be proclaimed immediately during the assembly.
