Philippine Association of Nutrition to hold 62nd annual convention in Subic
Some 1,000 nutrition program implementers are expected to attend the 62nd Annual Convention of the Philippine Association of Nutrition, come July 16 to 17 at Subic Bay in Zambales.
The convention's theme is "Nutrition and Wellness Towards a Heathy Lifestyle", which will likewise support this year's nutrition month's theme, "Wastong Nutrisyon Kailangan, Lifestyle Diseases Iwasan".
The activity will highlight the report on the 7th National Nutrition Surveys, as well as proper nutrition and other approaches in the prevention of lifestyle diseases. It will also serve as the right venue for the annual exchange of updates and best practices learned and experienced in the local nutrition work.
Relative to the event's focus which is healthy lifestyle, topics such as assessing the extent of lifestyle diseases in the Philippines, how to address these multi-faceted problems, together with the integration of health care approaches to advance wellness will be taken up in the duration of the gathering.
Participants of the two day convention are then expected to appreciate the significance of proper nutrition in the prevention of chromic diseases; recognize the crucial role played by the various stakeholders in the promotion of optimal nutrition; be cognizant of the impact of physical activity in the overall wellness of an individual, and; discern the utility of other healthcare approaches in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
