Bodies of three 'Maring' fatalities found in Zambales

Authorities on Friday said they have found the corpses of three security guards who were buried alive after a landslide covered their guard house in Blanco Mining, Botolan, Zambales last Wednesday.

Fatalities Celso Metran, Patricio Diaz and Amor Metran are all security guards of the MILLGOS Security Agency.

This brings to nine the total number of fatalities in the wake of tropical depression "Maring.

The National Disaster Coordinating Council said a state of calamity remains in effect in Botolan after massive floods affected 10 barangays. A similar declaration was hoisted by local officials in DinalupIhan, Bataan; Olongapo City and Zambales Province.

The NDCC said more than 77,000 families in 32 citities and municipalities were affected by flooding and landslides brought on by Maring.

It said the weather disturbance destroyed an estimated P133,332,032.90 worth of damage to agriculture and infrastructure in the country.
