Alay-Lakad Marches this Sunday

Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr. pledged his full support to the cause of Alay-Lakad Foundation-Olongapo City at the organization’s Execom (Executive Committee) meeting held this 8th of October, 2009.

“In behalf of the Olongapeño youth, I would like to extend my commendations and support to this year’s Alay-Lakad Execom. I know that many Olongapeños have already benefited from the foundation’s scholarship programs and I hope that the non-government organizations (NGOs) that support this cause will continue their noble efforts to help the underprivileged,” said Mayor Gordon to Execom Chair Abner Santos of Lions Club International and to representatives from DepEd, Olongapo Police Office (OCPO), baranggays, NGOs and other participating agencies and parties.

The said meeting discussed the final details of the actual walk to be held on October 11 and the subsequent program after the march. According to the plan, participants will assemble at the Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Covered Court at 6:30 am and will then start to tread the 6 km-walk from the assembly point to R.M Drive to Perimeter St. at Barangay Pag-Asa and passing thru the Asinan Gate of Subic Bay Freeport Zone to the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC), the final point. Certificates of recognition will then be given to outstanding individuals for their invaluable support to the foundation.

Mayor Bong Gordon with Alay-Lakad Executive Committee (execom) members headed by Alay-Lakad Executive Committee Chair Abner Santos of the Lions Club International, Dist. 301-D1 and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) head and Alay-Lakad secretariat members Gene Eclarino with the different participating agency representatives.
