City gives 20% Discount for Real Property Tax Payers
A twenty percent (20%) discount on Real Property Taxes (RPT) will be given to land-owners in Olongapo City should they pay their 2010 duties in advance from October to January 2010 while ten (10) percent discounts can be availed by land-owners who will pay in quarterly installments.
“The cut down on RPTs is not only to encourage Olongapeños to pay their real property obligations in time or ahead of time to avoid inconvenience and penalties but more importantly, to help our constituents save the much-needed cash for their families’ basic needs like food, medicines and clothing,” said Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr.
“Residents should pay their RPTs in time to pass up on two percent (2%) penalties every month for late payments,” said Marcelino Andawi, City Treasurer. “The first quarter payment of RPTs next year should be paid from January 3 to March 31, 2010, from April 1 to June 30 for the second quarter, from July 1 to September 30, for the third quarter and from October to December 31, 2010 for the fourth quarter,” Andawi explained.
“The funds collected from RPT payers are used for the city’s infrastructure projects like the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges and buildings and for the various social, health, and peace and order programs of the city government,” Andawi said.
