The City of Olongapo and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority have shifted to high gear in preparations for the 21st Philippine Advertising Congress (PAC) in November 18-21, 2009 at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC)
of the Subic Bay Freeport.

“We have to prepare for this event. November is a very important month. Magiging bisita natin ang iba’t-ibang sector ng advertising upang tingnan ang epekto ng recession at mag-focus sa iba’t-iba at maraming paraan ng pagsupil nito, we enjoin all members of the industry to be an active part of this endeavor,” Mayor Gordon said.

Meanwhile, the City Council has approved a Resolution encouraging the Olongapo City Tourism Industry to prepare for the upcoming Advertising Congress in the Freeport and to participate in the weeklong citywide sale on November 16-22, 2009.

The theme, “Perspectives: Ano sa tingin mo?” encourages all sectors of advertising to look beyond the effects of recession and share their very own take on advertising in the present times.

“Part of the proceeds would be donated to the Red Cross for rehabilitation efforts in Northern Luzon. The Ad Congress is one with a heart and a cause,” Charmaine Canillas, AdBoard chairman said during the press conference.

The 21st PAC shall examine distinctive perspectives coming from different sectors of advertising: marketing, creative and media/digital.

Four Marketing gurus are set to speak at the ad congress: Jeremy Carr, Turner Entertainment Network Asia, Inc. (TENA) vice president; Andrew Kingham, The Marketing Store managing director; Linda Kovarik, Coca-Cola Asia Pacific regional creative director and Mike Schalit, Network BBDO-South Africa chief creative officer.

Speakers of the creative sessions include some of the brightest creatives in advertising’s local and international circuit.
