White Rock Triathlon 2009

Sports enthusiasts will again gather on the 3rd White Rock Triathlon to be held on November 7, 2009.

Hosted by Olongapo City, Zambales, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and by White Rock Beach Resort, this year’s long distance triathlon will cover a total of 112 kilometers; a 2-kilometer swim, 90-kilometer bicycling and 20-kilometer run passing thru Subic, Castillejos, San Marcelino, San Narciso, San Felipe, Maloma, Cabangan, Olongapo City and at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ).

In this connection, Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. tasked the Public Affairs Office, Office of Traffic Management and Public Safety, City Tourism Office and the Disaster Management Office to assist the organizers of the said event.

“With triathlon participants coming from different parts of the region, the event does not only foster the preference for sports activities against other past times but also promote the tourism industry of the Olongapo-Subic Bay-Zambales areas,” said Mayor Gordon.
