Turner Bags Bb. Olongapo Crown
Eighteen year-old Rosemary Joan Turner bested fourteen other contenders vying for Bb. Olongapo as she bagged the crown on October 24, 2009 at the Grand Pageant Night held at the Olongapo City Convention Center.
Aside from the most coveted Bb. Olongapo title, Rosemary also won the Goddess of the Night, Best in Long Gown and Best in Swimsuit awards.
Taking-up Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Columban College, Rosemary aspires to be a businesswoman in the future. She idolizes former beauty queen and celebrity Miriam Quimbao.
On the other hand, Jhyane Anne Mundo, was crowned as Bb. Olongapo-Tourism while Cherryl Algabre bagged the first runner-up throne. Algabre also won the Miss Talent and Miss Photogenic awards while Cristaline Ruyo was cited as Miss Congeniality.
“All of the candidates are beautiful and talented. They embody the elegance and dignity of a true Olongapeña. Throughout the pageant, they have shown the value of friendship, cooperation and sportsmanship. For me, they are all winners,” said Olongapo First Lady and Zambales Vice-Governor Anne Marie Gordon, an advocate or women’s rights and welfare and avid supporter of the pageant.
The top three winners of the pageant will officially represent the city to various beauty competitions including the most coveted Bb. Pilipinas pageant.
