MS. WEST TAPINAC LED THE 2ND CANVASSING OF 2009 SEARCH FOR CITY FIESTA QUEEN

Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr., commended the Fiesta Executive Committee headed by Execom-Chair Anne Marie Gordon in relation to the successful 2nd Canvassing of the Search for the City Fiesta Queen held on December 4, 2009 at the Rizal Triangle Multi-Purpose Covered Court.

Brgy. West Tapinac topped the 2nd canvassing, making its beautiful candidate Jelyn Benavides, Miss Korean Night which was the theme of the night.

Ms. Benavides received a bouquet handed to her by Korean guests Julie Moon and Park Soon Dong while the sash was pinned by Dr. Resty Acosta and Gordon College Pres. Arlida Pame.

City Councilors Jong Cortez and Ellen Dabu awarded the plaque and Mayor Bong Gordon and Olongapo City First Lady and Zambales Vice Governor placed the crown on Ms. Benavides.

Barangay West Tapinac has teamed up with the Philippine Nurses Association (PNS) as its Non-Government Organization (NGO)-Barangay Partner to raise funds for this contest.

Here is the complete tabulation for the 2nd Canvassing:

The 2nd Canvassing of the Search for the City Fiesta Queen raised a total amount of P163,756.50. Brgy. Gordon Heights received a plaque for the biggest delegation, Best in Costume and Most Authentic was Uniffer Oda of Brgy. Sta. Rita, Most Elegant was Elizabeth Espinosa of Brgy Mabayuan and Best in Hairstyle was Jovaressa Resuello of Brgy. Old Cabalan.

The third and final canvassing is on December 16, 2009, 7 o’clock in the evening at the Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC) with the theme, International Night.
