All Set for APILG

The much-awaited gathering of local government leaders in the West and Central Pacific is set on February 18-21, 2010 in Olongapo City.

The Association of Pacific Island Local Governments (APILG) Conference is an annual event for mayors, city officials and municipal council members from the Philippines, Guam, the Northern Marianas, Palau, Hawaii, American Samoa, Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia.

The city government of Olongapo headed by Mayor James Gordon, Jr. and the Metro Olongapo Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (MOCCI) have been working closely with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) in preparations for the 4-day conference which will be held at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC) and Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC).

“We, in Olongapo City take great pride in hosting our neighbors in the Pacific,” Mayor James Gordon, Jr. said.

“We are confident that this year’s conference will bring tremendous changes in tourism and business in the city,” Aurelio V. Pineda, Jr., conference director said.
