ALAY LAKAD 2010 IN OLONGAPO ALL SET!

At the initiative of Mayor James ‘’Bong’’ Gordon, Jr., the 2010 Alay-Lakad Executive Committee (Execom) has lined-up this year’s activities to solicit funds to support the foundation’s social projects, particularly, the scholarship grants for the Olongapeño youth.

The Alay-Lakad Executive Committee (Execom) is under the chairmanship of Elmer M. Marquez co-chaired by Kenneth Peralta of Rotary Club, this year’s lead non-government organization (NGO).

The Alay-Lakad ‘income generating fund raising also onclude a ‘Bingo Social Game’ to be held on October 7, 2010, 5:00 pm at the Plenary Hall of the Olongapo City Convention Center (OCCC).

The foundation has already started distribution of tickets and selling of souvenir t-shirts and stickers while donation boxes have been placed in selected banks and business establishments in the city for the whole year to aid in the solicitation of funds for the foundation/s projects.

The “Alay-Lakad” actual walk is set on October 10, 2010 with an approximate of 3,000 participants expected from different government and non-government organizations.

The Alay-Lakad will be joined by the officials and employees of both local and national government, civic groups, Olongapo’s 17 barangays, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) employees, Freeport locators and DepED Olongapo where the biggest delegation is expected to come from.

The assembly for the actual walk will be at the KBG Complex at 6:00 am and will end at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC).

Certificates of recognitions will also be awarded by the Alay-Lakad Execom to five (5) outstanding individuals and organizations who have greatly contributed to the foundation’s cause. Likewise, the Execom will give recognitions for exceptional participants, highest contributor, biggest delegation, most disciplined group, most colorful group, youngest participant and the chairman’s award.

The Alay-Lakad Foundation has helped many underprivileged but intelligent Olongapeños to continue their studies thru its scholarship programs.
