Olongapo City - Ligtas sa Tigdas ang Pinas

         The City of Olongapo through the City Health Office (CHO) has commenced simultaneous door-to-door Measles/Rubella Supplemental Immunization in compliance with the Department of Health (DOH) nationwide program dubbed “Iligtas sa Tigdas ang Pinas”.
Set April 4 to May 4, 2011, the goal and commitment of this program is to eliminate measles as public hazard by year 2012.
“Isang malawakang measles vaccination campaign ang aming isinasagawa katuwang ang pamahalaang lungsod ng Olongapo bilang suporta sa DOH campaign nai-eliminate ang measles sa taong 2012 sa pamamagitan ng massive Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activities (MRSIA), said Dr. Arnildo Tamayo, CHO head.
       Infants and children from nine (9) months to below eight (8) years old are beneficiaries of the program regardless of their immunization status.
 “I encourage all Barangay officials, workers and residents to actively participate in the implementation of the “Iligtas sa Tigdas ang Pinas” campaign,” said Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr. (Pao/fr/03-31-2011)
