    • Ed J. Piano The storm that flattened their houses

The super typhons that recently hit our city damaged their roofs and walls but they got back on their feet in no time due to the natural resiliency of the pinoys. Yesterday however, it was a different story "ito ang bagyong hindi kinaya ng powers namin!" said Mang Enteng as he picks up pieces of wood that they may even use as panggatong and at the same time relaying the story that just before they had lunch earlier, two buses of demolition team escorted by NBI, SWAT, and policemen from the region arrived declaring that they will implement a demolition order from the court. They were heavily armed that my wife told me not to fight else risk being seriously hurt. The informal settlers were asking the government and kind hearted individual/organizations for help. 31 Families were affected

    • Ed J. Piano Its the Ocampo family that has claims over the propertly. The demolition order is a result of long court battle between the Ocampo's and the one's living in that area (you are right, for as long as I can remember ay sila na nakatira dyan) but its the court's ruling.. unfortunately
